Password reset via missing session-token validation
Published May 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSRF in Aviatrix Controller before 5.4.1066 allows remote attackers to reset passwords through the Controller Web Interface. A password-reset API call accepts requests without requiring the Controller Web Interface session-token parameter that binds the action to an authenticated session. Exploitation requires an authenticated user's browser to submit the forged request, and the resulting password change affects account integrity.
