Unauthenticated user enumeration via discrepant API responses
Published May 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
User enumeration in Aviatrix Controller before 5.4.1204 allows remote attackers to identify valid accounts through unauthenticated API requests. The API emits distinguishable responses when supplied usernames exist versus when they do not, revealing account validity during repeated guesses. No authentication or user interaction is required; the consequence is limited to valid-username disclosure that supports password brute forcing.
