Code execution via unsanitized CSV audit export
Published Jun 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSV injection in BooleBox Secure File Sharing Utility before 4.2.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through exported audit logs. The Audit Area export writes a user-controlled name beginning with a formula marker into a CSV cell without neutralizing it. Exploitation requires a privileged user to export the activity log and open it in Microsoft Excel, where the formula can run commands on that user's computer.
