CVE-2020-13226Network attack vector

Internal network mapping via Publisher SSRF

Published May 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Server-side request forgery in WSO2 API Manager 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to map internal network services via Publisher Portal endpoint checks. A deprecated Management Console reachability feature accepts attacker-selected backend endpoints and makes outbound requests from the Publisher node, exposing timing differences that reveal open ports and services. Access requires the apim:api_create OAuth2 scope and creator, publisher, or administrator privileges; response data is not returned, although unauthenticated state-changing services could be invoked indirectly.
