Privilege escalation via insecure named-pipe creation
Published May 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Race condition in Teradici PCoIP agents for Windows 19.11.1 and earlier allows local users to intercept sensitive information or elevate privileges. During initialization, pcoip_credential_provider creates an insecure named pipe that an attacker-controlled application can acquire first. Exploitation requires prior local installation and execution of that application; success exposes data handled through the pipe or raises local privileges.
