Password disclosure via unauthorized AjaxServlet action
Published May 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Password disclosure in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus before 11.1 build 11112 allows remote authenticated users to read the File Protection password. The getFileProtectionSettings action in AjaxServlet returns the stored password to a low-privilege account without checking whether the caller has permission to view the privacy setting. Any authenticated low-privilege account that can reach the servlet can obtain the password; no data modification or service interruption is reported.
