Hash disclosure via recoverable traffic obfuscation
Published May 18, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in D-Link DSP-W215 firmware 1.26b03 allows attackers to recover a protected hash from local-network traffic. The device sends the hash in obfuscated form, but traffic monitoring and knowledge of the obfuscation make the value understandable. Passive access to the same local network is sufficient; the reported consequence is hash disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
