CVE-2020-13117Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root command execution via unsanitized login key

Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 19, 2025

OS command injection in Wavlink WN575A4, WN579X3, and WN530G3A through 2020-05-15 allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The login handler inserts the unfiltered key parameter into an echo command before authentication, allowing shell metacharacters to escape the command context. Any network client that can reach the login interface can run arbitrary commands with root privileges; a malicious website can also target the device through wifi.wavlink.com.
