CVE-2020-13110Public exploit

Local code execution via uncontrolled DLL search

Published May 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

DLL search-path injection in kerberos for Node.js before 1.0.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a malicious DLL. The kerberos_sspi LoadLibrary() call supplies a DLL name without a fully qualified path, so Windows searches attacker-writable locations before the intended library. Exploitation requires placement of the named DLL in a searched directory and user interaction to run affected code, enabling execution in that process and privilege escalation.
