Browser script execution via unsanitized web request
Published Jun 9, 2020 · Updated Feb 28, 2025
Cross-site scripting in affected Microsoft SharePoint releases allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted web requests. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected request handler or the precise sanitization operation that mishandles attacker-controlled request content. Low-privilege SharePoint access and victim interaction are required, and successful exploitation runs script in the victim's browser context without interrupting the service.
