Privilege escalation or crash via Escape handler
Published Nov 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Privilege escalation and denial of service in AMD Radeon Software allow local users to leak data or trigger a Windows BugCheck. The Radeon kernel-mode driver's Escape 0x2000c00 handler permits a write that exposes information, but AMD has not disclosed the faulty validation or memory operation. Low-privileged Windows access is required; Radeon Software before 20.7.1 and Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise before 21.Q2 are affected.
