CVE-2020-12920

Local Windows crash via Escape call handler

Published Nov 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Denial of service in the AMD Display driver in AMD Radeon Software before 20.11.2 allows local users to crash Windows. The Escape 0x130007 call handler accepts a low-privilege request that triggers a Windows BugCheck, but AMD has not disclosed the exact validation error. Low-privilege local access is required; successful exploitation forces an operating-system crash without reported data disclosure or modification.
