Local privilege escalation via stack buffer overflow
Published Nov 15, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stack buffer overflow in AMD Radeon Software before 20.11.2 allows local users to elevate privileges or crash Windows 10 systems. AMD ties the affected driver family to graphics-driver Escape-call APIs but has not disclosed the affected handler or incorrect copy operation. A low-privileged local process must reach the installed graphics driver; successful exploitation grants higher privileges or interrupts the host with a system crash.
