Administrator-level code execution via unrestricted sendmail path
Published Jun 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in Pydio Cells 2.0.4 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute arbitrary binaries. Cells Console accepts an unrestricted sendmail executable path, then invokes that binary with attacker-controlled email data when a test message is sent. Administrator access and the sendmail engine are required; successful exploitation runs code with the Cells service account's privileges.
