CVE-2020-12802Network attack vector

Information disclosure via unfiltered DOCX graphic links

Published Jun 8, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Information exposure in LibreOffice before 6.4.4 allows remote attackers to trigger remote resource retrieval through crafted DOCX files. The DOCX import path fails to apply stealth mode's trusted-location restriction to externally linked graphics, so it fetches their URLs even when other remote resources are blocked. Exploitation requires stealth mode, which is disabled by default, and processing an attacker-controlled DOCX; the bounded result is an unauthorized outbound request and remote graphic load.
