CVE-2020-12720Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Database compromise via unauthenticated nodeId SQL injection

Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

SQL injection in vBulletin before 5.5.6pl1, 5.6.0 before 5.6.0pl1, and 5.6.1 before 5.6.1pl1 allows remote attackers to alter data. The content_infraction getIndexableContent API accepts a nested nodeId[nodeid] value that reaches an SQL query without neutralizing SQL syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required; crafted requests can disclose database contents, reset an administrator password, and lead to server-side code execution.
