CVE-2020-12697Network attack vector

Database exhaustion via unlimited click-log entries

Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Denial of service in TYPO3 Direct Mail 5.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to exhaust database storage through valid newsletter links. The click-tracking handler creates a new log-table record for every request to a valid sent-newsletter link without limiting entries per link. No authentication is required, and repeated requests can fill the logging table until database-backed service is disrupted.
