Published May 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Credential disclosure in Avira Free Antivirus 15.0.2005.1866 and earlier allows local users to read stored browser credentials. Avira.PWM.NativeMessaging.exe accepts fetchChromePasswords and fetchCredentials requests without verifying the calling program. Any local user able to invoke the executable can retrieve the logged-in user's saved credentials; some third parties dispute the vulnerability classification.
