CVE-2020-12527Network attack vector

Authenticated device shutdown via missing permission enforcement

Published Mar 2, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper privilege management in mymbCONNECT24, mbCONNECT24, myREX24, and myREX24.virtual through 2.11.2 allows authenticated device reboots. The advisories do not identify the request handler or authorization check; they state only that access validation fails to enforce reboot and shutdown permissions. An account login is required, and exploitation can shut down or reboot devices in that account despite missing corresponding permissions.
