Authenticated root command execution via unfiltered event code

OS command injection in Pepperl+Fuchs Comtrol IO-Link Master 1.5.48 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The IO-Link Test Event Generation endpoint appends the unfiltered code field to a command string passed to exec(). A valid web-interface session is required; successful injection runs with root privileges on the gateway operating system.
