CVE-2020-12487

Root command execution via unfiltered special characters

Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Dec 17, 2024

Command injection in vivo ABE Service before 4.4.0.9 allows physically proximate attackers to execute commands with root privileges. The service fails to filter special characters while verifying command input, causing crafted input to be interpreted as commands. Exploitation requires physical access and user interaction; successful execution permits root-authorized data access or modification, with no reported service interruption.
