Session hijacking via retained attacker-chosen cookie
Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Session fixation in Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to hijack authenticated sessions via a crafted session cookie. The panel login flow accepts an attacker-chosen alphanumeric INTELLI session identifier and retains it after valid credentials establish the session. The attacker must set the cookie before a victim completes panel authentication; the known identifier then provides access to that victim’s authenticated session.
