Authenticated SQL injection via unrestricted sort direction
Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in PHP-Fusion 9.03.50 allows remote authenticated users to read database data through the members.php search page. The Members class places the sort_order GET value after the ORDER BY clause without restricting it to ASC or DESC, so crafted SQL controls the remainder of the query. A valid application login and access to member search are required; binary-query results can be inferred from member ordering to exfiltrate database data.
