Local credential disclosure via world-readable configuration files
Published Apr 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Red Hat packages for Grafana 6.x through 6.3.6 allows local users to read stored application credentials. The RPM packaging assigns mode 0644 to /etc/grafana/grafana.ini and /etc/grafana/ldap.toml, exposing secret_key and bind_password values to all local accounts. Access requires local filesystem reachability, and the disclosed values reveal Grafana secrets and LDAP bind credentials.
