Privilege escalation in G.SKILL Trident Z Lighting Control 1.00.08 and earlier allows local users to gain NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM access. The ene.sys driver exposes physical-memory mapping, MSR register reads and writes, and I/O port access without restricting these operations to privileged users. A local non-privileged account is sufficient to access the driver primitives and obtain full SYSTEM-level control of the Windows host.
