Controller interruption via undisclosed protection failure
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Protection mechanism failure in Intel Thunderbolt controllers allows local users with authenticated access to interrupt controller availability. Intel has not published the affected protection mechanism, its code or logic locus, or the operation that mishandles attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires local authenticated access and leaves the controller unusable until the device is power-cycled, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
