CVE-2020-1209

Privilege escalation via undisclosed memory-object mishandling

Published Jun 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Memory-handling error in the Windows Network List Service allows local users to elevate privileges following user interaction. Microsoft states only that the service mishandles objects in memory and has not published the affected function, object type, or incorrect memory operation. Successful exploitation grants elevated privileges on affected Windows 10 and Windows Server releases; the public record does not bound the resulting actions more narrowly.
