Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows SMB 3.1.1 allows remote attackers to read kernel memory through crafted compressed requests. Srv2DecompressData trusts the claimed output size, while SmbCompressionDecompress reports the buffer size instead of bytes produced, exposing uninitialized pool data. The published proof of concept requires credentials and a writable share; the flaw itself affects every SMB message, with disclosure limited to prior kernel-pool contents.
