Script execution via unsanitized annotation popup text
Published Apr 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Grafana before 6.7.3 allows remote attackers to execute script when a user opens a crafted annotation popup. The annotation popup renders attacker-controlled annotation text as HTML without sanitizing it before insertion into the page. Exploitation requires user interaction, and successful script execution can read or modify data available to the victim's browser session.
