Unauthenticated FTP access via hard-coded credentials
Published Jun 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Baxter Spectrum WBM v17, v20D29, v20D30, v20D31, and v22D24 allow remote attackers to access its FTP service. In a factory-default wireless configuration, the module starts an FTP service whose inbound authentication accepts credentials embedded in the device. Network access to the configured wireless segment is required, and the FTP service can remain reachable after later network reconfiguration until the module reboots.
