CVE-2020-12035Network attack vector

Treatment-status tampering via unauthenticated integration traffic

Published Jun 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper authentication in Baxter PrismaFlex all versions and PrisMax before 3.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter treatment status data. The devices send treatment data to a configured PDMS or EMR without authenticating the receiving system, allowing network traffic to be intercepted and changed. Exploitation requires access to the supporting network and the optional secondary-system integration; the vendor bulletin assigns the hard-coded service-code issue to CVE-2020-12037 instead.
