CVE-2020-12030Network attack vector

Unauthenticated firewall disablement via VLAN setting

Published Sep 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper access control in Emerson Wireless gateways 4.6.43 through 4.7.84 allows remote attackers to expose gateway ports via VLAN configuration. When VLAN is enabled, gateway firewall configuration code disables the internal firewall instead of preserving its rules, exposing every gateway port. The condition requires VLAN activation; successful exploitation can permit commands to downstream devices and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
