Physical data access via unrestricted USB boot
Published Jun 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in affected Baxter ExactaMix EM1200 and EM2400 releases allows physically proximate attackers to access data via USB. The systems accept an unauthorized USB device as a payload or live operating-system source, allowing it to boot and access the internal hard drive. Physical access to the compounder is required; successful use permits unauthorized hard-drive access and exposure or modification of sensitive information, including PHI.
