Credential disclosure via unsanitized IOCTL SQL queries
Published May 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in WebAccess Node of Advantech WebAccess/SCADA 8.4.4 and earlier and 9.0.0 allows remote attackers to read stored credentials. BwWebSvc.dll IOCTL handlers 0x00013c71 and 0x00013c74 through 0x00013c77 use unvalidated user-supplied strings to construct SQL queries. Authentication is not required, and disclosed credentials can enable further compromise.
