Sensitive data exposure via cleartext order messages
Published Jun 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Baxter ExactaMix EM 2400 1.10 and 1.11 and EM1200 1.1 and 1.2 allows remote attackers to view PHI via network traffic. The devices send compounding order information to an order-entry system as unencrypted messages, allowing network observers to read sensitive contents. Network access to the communication path is required; the documented consequence is confidentiality loss without reported integrity or availability impact.
