Unauthenticated file disclosure via path traversal
Published Jun 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk Linx 6.00, 6.10, and 6.11 allows remote attackers to read local files via crafted requests. An exposed API processes attacker-supplied file paths without sanitation, allowing traversal outside the intended directory and disclosure of hard-drive data. The API is unauthenticated and network reachable; exploitation reads files but does not alter data or interrupt service.
