Unauthenticated root SSH access via empty password
Published Apr 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authentication in Evenroute IQrouter 3.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain root SSH access with an empty password. The shipped root account accepts SSH login without a password while the device remains in its factory-unconfigured state. The vendor disputes the finding because initial configuration forces creation of a secure password, limiting exposure to a brand-new network before setup completes.
