Reflected XSS via unfiltered missing-page path
Published Apr 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in bitcoin-abe through 0.7.2 and 0.8pre allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted missing-page URL. The PageNotFound branch in Abe.abe.call concatenates the unfiltered PATH_INFO value directly into the HTML 404 response body. A user must open the crafted URL; the script then runs under the Abe site's origin and can access site data or perform actions available to that browser session.
