CVE-2020-11922

Network privacy disclosure via cloud telemetry

Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in WiZ Colors A60 1.14.0 allows remote attackers on the adjacent network to obtain local IP and Wi-Fi SSID data. The bulb transmits its local IP address and wireless network SSID to the cloud controller even though those details are unnecessary for operation. The data is encrypted in transit, but an unauthenticated nearby attacker who can access the cloud telemetry or associated account data can infer network location information; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
