CVE-2020-11909Network attack vector

Remote crash via malformed IPv4 packet

Published Jun 17, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2025

Integer underflow in the Treck TCP/IP stack before 6.0.1.66 allows remote attackers to cause a crash via malformed IPv4 packets. The IPv4 component performs improper input validation on crafted packet data, triggering an integer underflow and possible segmentation fault. Exploitation requires network reachability without authentication; documented consequences are device crash or segmentation fault, with more severe impacts dependent on device implementation.
