Information disclosure via malformed JSON error handling
Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Divante vue-storefront-api through 1.11.1 and storefront-api through 1.0-rc.1 allows remote attackers to read stack traces. The invalid-request handler returns an exception's stack property when malformed JSON reaches Express body parsing, exposing absolute paths and Node.js module names. No authentication or user interaction is required; disclosure is limited to diagnostic path and module metadata in the HTTP error response.
