CVE-2020-11846Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via unrestricted authentication cookie

Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024

Privilege management failure in OpenText Privileged Access Manager before 3.7.0.1 allows remote authenticated users unrestricted resource access. After the REST API issues an authentication token, its cookie is accepted for every application resource instead of only authorized resources. Exploitation requires low privileges and user interaction; the cookie enables reading and changing unauthorized resources, with no reported service interruption.
