Unauthenticated file read via unchecked download path
Published Apr 13, 2020 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Path traversal in Snap Creek Duplicator before 1.3.28 and Duplicator Pro before 3.8.7.1 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. The download handlers append the file parameter to DUPLICATOR_SSDIR_PATH after only text sanitization, without constraining the resolved path. Unauthenticated requests can traverse outside the backup directory and disclose files readable by the web server, including WordPress database credentials.
