Unauthenticated file disclosure via download path parameter
Published Apr 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Local file inclusion in Media Library Assistant before 2.82 allows remote attackers to read files within the WordPress wp-content directory. The public mla-file-downloader.php endpoint accepts mla_download_file from the query string and returns the named file after only limiting the path to wp-content. No authentication is required, but disclosure is bounded to files beneath wp-content rather than arbitrary server files.
