Authenticated arbitrary file overwrite via unsanitized path
Published Apr 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in ProVide 13.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files through the Web Admin Interface. The /ajax/ImportCertificate endpoint accepts the fileName parameter as the certificate destination without constraining the supplied path. Administrative-interface access is required; successful requests can replace server-accessible files or load an attacker-supplied PFX certificate.
