Authenticated privilege escalation via unchecked REST API authorization
Published May 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authorization in TeamPass through 2.1.27.36 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify all stored passwords. The api/index.php REST handlers accept a valid API token without checking the caller’s role, exposing administrative reads and writes. Exploitation requires a TeamPass account with an API token and API access enabled, a feature that is disabled by default.
