Unauthenticated authorization bypass via shared-secret reset
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authorization bypass in Broadcom Layer7 API Developer Portal 4.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access protected portal functions. The shared-secret reset flow accepts a user-controlled key without enforcing authorization for the referenced portal object; no function or endpoint is public. No credentials or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation exposes protected actions and associated data to a network client.
