Process crash via malformed window-function query
Published Apr 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper initialization in SQLite 3.31.1 and earlier allows attackers to crash a process with a malformed window-function query. After a semantic error in an aggregate query, resetAccumulator continues processing an incompletely or incorrectly initialized AggInfo object instead of returning early. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled SQL to SQLite, and the resulting segmentation fault interrupts that process without reported data disclosure or modification.
