Authenticated arbitrary code execution via unprotected command queue
Published Jul 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper privilege management in ABB Advant MOD 300 AdvaBuild 3.0 through 3.7 SP2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. An insufficiently protected command queue accepts an injected command and launches any executable on the AdvaBuild node rather than limiting execution to product binaries. Exploitation requires network access and an account permitted to log in remotely; successful execution can alter runtime data, read or write controller data, or make the node inaccessible.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
