CVE-2020-11629Network attack vector

Malicious script upload via certificate validator

Published Apr 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Unrestricted file upload in EJBCA before 6.15.2.6 and 7.x before 7.3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to place malicious scripts on the server. The External Command Certificate Validator saves attacker-supplied test-certificate uploads to server storage in a form that accepts malicious script files. Exploitation requires prior access to the CA UI; the vendor states that validator users are already trusted to upload scripts, limiting the issue's standalone impact.
